The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who have recently gone home to be with the Lord. Notices were received April 9-13, 2012.
Ruth B. Brock, 88, of Hemet, California, passed away on March 26. She was the widow of retired minister Eugene A. McDowell, who served in Oregon, Idaho, and California. Eugene A. McDowell passed away in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Brock, who passed away in 2011.
Birdie M. Hand, 89, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on April 11. She was the widow of minister William O. Hand, who served in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. William O. Hand was pastor of the Bloomingdale, Georgia, Church of the Nazarene when he passed away in 1989.
Julia Hayes, 82, of Washington, Illinois, passed away on April 3. She was the widow of retired minister James L. Hayes Sr., who served in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota. James L. Hayes Sr. passed away in 1993.
Charles L. Lambert Sr., 73, of Appomattox, Virginia, passed away on April 6. He was a retired minister, serving in Virginia and West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Rachel (Ingles) Lambert.
Golda M. Masters, 85, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on April 5. She was a retired minister, serving in Kansas. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Denver Reed, who passed away in 1952, and her second husband, David Masters, who passed away in 1976.
R. Paul McMillan, 82, of Mount Gilead, Ohio, passed away on March 29. He was a retired minister and evangelist, serving in Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, C. Eileen (Shoults) McMillan, who passed away in 2011.
Leo R. "Ray" Peurasaari, 70, of Alanson, Michigan, passed away on April 5. He was a minister, serving in Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Julie (Von Breidfjord) Peurasaari.
John R. Roberts, 80, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on April 10. He was a retired minister, serving in Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Kay (Loftin) Roberts.
Elmer L. Rogers, 81, of Wood River, Illinois, passed away on April 10. He was a retired minister, serving in Illinois, Arkansas, and Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Loreeta (Wilson) Rogers.
Willis R. Scott Sr., 82, of Byron Center, Michigan, passed away on April 9. He was a retired minister and evangelist, serving in Ohio, New York, Illinois, Michigan, and Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois I. Scott, who passed away in 2009.
Charles Randal "Randy" Warren, 57, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away on April 5. He was a photographer and videographer for the Church of the Nazarene's International Headquarters. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Warren, who also worked at International Headquarters.
Howard F. Welches Jr., 87, of Piedmont, Missouri, passed away on April 9. He was a retired minister, serving in Indiana and Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Brooks) Welches.
