Mesoamerica youth part of The Dream Generation

Managua, Nicaragua

Earlier this month more than 150 young people gathered in the Fountain of Life Church in Managua, Nicaragua, for The Dream Generation youth conference.

The purpose of this event was to connect and cast a vision for youth in the CA-4 Field in Central America. Attendees felt God in the midst of their worship and through the leadership provided by Field Youth Coordinator Milton Gay.

Three plenary sessions were held during the conference and centered on the three core values of Nazarene Youth International – evangelism, discipleship and leadership development. Pastors, local leaders, and district representatives from all surrounding districts were present to participate in various workshops presented. Workshop topics included Nazarene bible quiz ministry, “Sex Lies and Truth,” “The Call to Youth Leadership,” “Youth Group Friendships,” and “Youth Mobilization.” These workshops were taught by the leadership team – Zelvin Chacon, Rene Quintanilla, Odily Diaz, Dimas Acuña, and Milton Gay.

The Dream Generation planning team also developed a forum where attendees asked questions that were answered by local pastors, and the district superintendent of the Central District of Nicaragua.

Event highlights included dynamic praise and worship, laughter, food, fellowship, and times of reflection. On the final day attendees enjoyed the experience of worshipping together to a live worship band from Nicaragua.

The vision for The Dream Generation was achieved; participants left the event after spending time together in fellowship and service and were challenged to prepare and serve God more through the opportunity of youth ministry.

“We thank each attendee, the pastors and leaders who contributed to this successful event,” said Gay. “God will reward great work by the youth of Nicaragua.”
