NazKidz General Convention to heat up Orlando this June
This June, the Church of the Nazarene will be holding its 27th General Assembly and Conventions in Orlando, Florida. As a part of this event, Children's Ministries International will be holding the NazKidz General Convention, a time for children to experience General Assembly with activities designed to disciple and minister to children.

Update on Madagascar political situation
Civil unrest continues on the Africa island country of Madagascar. Due to the fighting between opposition forces and government troops, missionaries were evacuated to Johannesburg. As the situation continues to degenerate, prayer is requested for Africa leaders.

Cuban Nazarenes welcome Cunninghams
Paul G. Cunningham, jurisdictional general superintendent for the Caribbean Region, and his wife, Connie, joined Nazarenes of the Cuba District for a time of enthusiastic worship, district business, and warm fellowship. The assembly began, Cunningham said, "with everyone knowing from the outset that the Lord himself was in control."

Nazarene elected new secretary for Bible Commission of Cuba
The Board of Directors of the Council of Churches in Cuba recently elected Alain Montano Hernández as the new secretary of its Bible Commission. Montano is a member of the Church of the Nazarene and is a professor of systematic theology, New Testament Greek, and Hebrew for the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Cuba.

A rousing welcome for Geneva Silvernail, new principal for Melanesia Nazarene Bible College
At the college gate entrance, nearly 200 adults and children from the college and community lined the sides of the road smiling, waving, and welcoming newly elected principal of Melanesia Nazarene Bible College Geneva Silvernail. Hope comes to PNG in the form of Community Based Health Care
The Middle Ramu area of Papua New Guinea is a rugged and remote region accessible only by foot or plane. Many people must walk two or three days to reach the nearest health center. Sickness and death are constant companions. However, hope has come to this area in the form of Community Based Health Care. Over the past two and a half years, missionary Becky Morsch has been teaching trainers from over 40 communities the basics of how to keep their villages healthy, both physically and spiritually. 1,000 gather for first Bangladesh NYI Conference
From north and south, from major cities and small villages, more than 1,000 young people came together from February 14-16 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the first-ever Nazarene Youth International Conference for the Bangladesh District.

The Sierra Norte District in Quito, Ecuador, recently organized their first Korean Church of the Nazarene on February 15. This is also the first organized Korean church in the South America Region.

Publio L. Fajardo passed away February 26 in The Bronx, New York. He most recently served as associate pastor for Latino Ministries at the Bronx Bethany Church of the Nazarene, but has always been an inspiration, willing to teach and offer prayer for anyone and everyone.

MVNU students organize orphanage benefit concert
Mount Vernon Nazarene University students are holding the "Extended Melody Project" benefit concert on Saturday, March 14, at 7 P.M. in the former Ibiza 33. "The whole premise of the concert is to raise awareness for the growing number of street children across the world," said event organizer and sophomore Ryan Walker. "More specifically, we are trying to raise funds for an orphanage in Brazil to help them remain stable and on their feet."
